How Recognition Actually Works

All of our partner universities operate within Turkey's Higher Education Council (YÖK) framework, since Northern Cyprus universities are closely integrated with the Turkish higher education system. On top of that, each university holds its own international accreditations, rankings, and academic partnerships — real, verifiable credentials, not just marketing claims.

What Each University Actually Holds

CIU

Ranked in the top 65 universities worldwide in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings (2024), and placed in the 601–800 band of the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (2025). CIU is also a member of international academic bodies including the IAU, EAIE, and NAFSA.

GAU

The first university in Northern Cyprus to receive Turkish YÖK accreditation.

NEU

Runs its own JCI-accredited teaching hospital — an internationally recognized standard for clinical healthcare and training, especially relevant for Medicine and Dentistry students.

BAU

Part of the BAU Global Education Network, with sister institutions in Istanbul, Berlin, Rome, Washington D.C., and Batumi.

FIU

Its hospitality program was developed in partnership with VATEL, a well-known French hospitality education group. FIU is part of the Final Education Institutions group, active in Turkish education for over 40 years.
